The 2018 Monthly Community Wellness Education Series features two upcoming events in February and March. Both presentations will be held at The Fellowship Cup Community Room, 203 N. Jefferson, Mt. Pleasant, from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. Anyone who is interested in learning about healthy habits is invited to attend. Registration is encouraged by calling 319.385.3242 or visit www.facebook.com/HealthyHenryCounty to sign up.
On Tuesday, February 6, the presentation is “How to Roast Vegetables.” Roasted vegetables make a side dish that is hard to beat – they are easy, tasty and healthy. You can enjoy your roasted vegetables for supper and eat the leftovers for lunch the next day. They are a great addition to any meal. Presenters Cherry and Hallie Sandeen will provide recipes and tasty samples of roasted vegetables and share how you can utilize the leftovers by incorporating them into a main dish.
On Tuesday, March 6, HCHC Dietitian Elise Klopfenstein will demonstrate how you can continue all the healthy habits you have created when life takes you away from your kitchen. “Homemade Meals – To Go” is a presentation where you can come and explore a healthy sandwich bar and see how you can make healthy lunches you can take anywhere for kids and adults.
