Notice to Bidders: Chiller, Cooling Tower, AHU Replacement Project at HCHC

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

PART 1 GENERAL
Sealed bids will be received by Brian Sinclair of Henry County Health Center, 407 S White St.,
Mt Pleasant, IA until 2 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2020 for the Chiller, Cooling Tower and
AHU Replacements at Henry County Health Center described in the plans and specifications on
file in the office of Brian Sinclair. At that date, time and place bids will be opened and read
aloud. Bids will be presented to the Board for potential action at its meeting on September 15,
2020. All bids shall remain valid for 45 days after the bid deadline. The successful bidder shall
be required to submit a performance and payment bond as required by statute and the
specifications. Insurance requirements and form of contract are referenced in the specifications.

Plans will be available at the Rapids Reprographics Online Distribution Planroom
(https://rapidsrepro.com/planroom/) and also at the following locations:
1. Owner: Brian Sinclair, Henry County Health Center, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641
2. MODUS: 118 E College St, Iowa City, IA 52240

A virtual pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10:00am on August 27, 2020 with meeting details to
be released in addendum #1.

All work shall be in accordance with the contract documents on file in Brian Sinclair’s office. The
work has a tentative start date immediately following contract approval. The Owner will give a
Notice to Proceed when all required contract documents are signed and other initial contract
requirements are met. The work shall be substantially completed by April 30, 2021.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond meeting statutory requirements in the amount of
5% of the bid.

The award of contract may be made by the Board of the Henry County Health Center to the
lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting the specifications. The Hospital reserves the
right to reject all bids, to waive irregularities in a bid, and to enter into a contract that it deems in
the best interest of the Hospital.

By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown or
coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor.

All bids will be governed by applicable provisions of the Iowa Code and Board policies.
