Women’s Health Services

Henry County Health Center-Mt. Pleasant Clinic provides women’s health services for all ages and stages of life. Our medical team includes two advanced registered nurse practitioners, both of whom are certified nurse-midwives. These healthcare professionals are committed to meeting the healthcare needs of women and young families by providing a wide range of women’s health services and more.

In addition to all of the services listed below, our certified nurse-midwives provide maternity care. HCHC partners through a shared care program with Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington to have deliveries coordinated at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. For patients who choose delivery by certified nurse-midwives, Kari and Kendra rotate with certified nurse-midwife to deliver babies at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. Obstetric physicians are also available at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for labor and delivery services. Expectant mothers can receive their prenatal and postpartum care at our Mt. Pleasant clinic. The certified nurse-midwives work closely with patients to determine labor and delivery needs, and help select the best location for delivery.

Following delivery, we invite moms and their newborns to return to our Mt. Pleasant clinic for postpartum care and a full range of women’s health services:

  • Annual well woman exams
  • Pap smears and preventative health screenings
  • Contraception care (birth control) including natural options, medications, and intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants
  • STI education, prevention, screening, and treatment of patient and partners (including males)
