Henry County Health Center is pleased to partner with Great River Health System to provide oncology treatment.
Mohammed Alhyari, MD, and Luz Cortes, MD, will see patients every Wednesday at the Henry County Health Center Oncology/Hematology Clinic in Mt. Pleasant beginning January 16.
The partnership will allow area residents to continue to receive cancer care close to home. Deb Helmerson, HCHC Infusion/Chemotherapy Department nurse, sees first-hand the importance of patients having local access to cancer care.
“As an Oncology Nurse, I step into people’s lives and try to make a difference. I see them at their worst and at their best. It never ceases to amaze me the capacity our cancer patients have for courage and endurance! I am happy Great River Health System’s hematology and oncology specialists will be
helping our patients receive care locally,” explained Helmerson.
In addition to HCHC’s weekly Oncology/Hematology Clinic, Henry County Health Center provides chemotherapy services Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. HCHC’s Infusion/Chemotherapy Department provides care for patients through all stages of cancer treatment, combining compassionate and experienced staff with cancer care they can trust.
HCHC’s partnership with Great River Health System helps keep treatments close to home. Patients find a friendly and relaxing atmosphere as they receive chemotherapy treatment at the health center. At HCHC, patients are also able to receive necessary outpatient services for cancer care including lab testing, imaging services, surgical services, inpatient services and much more.
Physician referrals to HCHC’s Oncology/Hematology Clinic can be made by calling HCHC at 319.385.6185.
